Answer:

A can do a job in 4 days and B can do the same job in 6 days. If A’s efficiency increases to 4/3 times, then by how many times does B have to reduce his efficiency so that the work can be completed by both of them in two days?

Why should I choose Design programs at UPES? How is their School of Design?

UPES School of Design offers it’s students the unique opportunity to learn in an environment that fosters innovation through mult

A can do a job in 4 days and B can do the same job in 6 days so the Total work is 24.

and efficiency of A is 24 work/4 days = 6 work/day

efficiency of B is 24 work/6 days = 4 work/day

when they work together ,

one day work of A and B is 6+4 = 10 work/day

they can finish 24 work in 2.4 days.

now as per the question efficiency of A is increased by 4/3 times

i.e.

6 * 4/3 = 8

so now A can do 8 work/day

to finish the 24 work in 2 days… they have to work with the efficiency of 12 work day.

A’s increased efficiency is 8 work /day. and B’s original efficiency is 4 work/day.

total work in day is 12 . so there is NO need to reduce the efficiency of B.
