If A=(x,-4) ,B=(4,5) and AB=18 units, then find the value of ‘x’

(AB)² = [(4-x)²+{5-(-4)}²]

=> 324 = 16 + x² - 8x + 81

After simplification we get,

x² - 8x - 227 = 0

Applying the quadratic formula we get,

x = [8±18sqrt(3)]/2

= 4±9sqrt(3)
