The area of the trapezium is 2500 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data:

  • AB = 67 cm
  • CD = 58 cm
  • AD = 41 cm

EB = CD = 58 cm ----- (1)

AE = AB − EB

= (67 − 58) cm =9 cm

Now angle DEA = 90°

(DE)^2  = ( AD)^ 2  − (AE)^ 2  = (41)^ 2  - (9)^ 2

= 1681 − 81   = 1600

DE=  1600  =40 cm

DE = 40 cm ----- (2)

Total area = Area of triangle  + Area of rectangle

=  1/2  AE x DE + DC x C.B

=  1/2  (9) x (40) + (58) x (40)

= (9) x (20) + (58) x (40)

= 180 + 2320

= 2500 cm^2

Hence the area of the trapezium is 2500 cm^2
