given- ab=cd
to prove-ac=bd
proof-ab=cd
therefore,ab+bc=cd+bc(if equals are added to equals then whose are equal)
hence,ac=bd ......proved

Yashmita: N ya sorry for that line inconvenience
Singhpraveen: means
Singhpraveen: that was acc. to euclids axioms
Singhpraveen: that's" whole are equal" not "whose are equal"
Yashmita: ??

Concept

In geometry, a line segment is a part of a line that is bounded by two distinct end points, and contains every point on the line that is between its endpoints.

Given

ab = cd

Find

Proof that ac = bd

Solution

As it is given that ab = cd

Adding bc both sides

ab + bc = cd + bc

Calculating LHS

ab + bc

= ac

Calculating RHS

cd + bc

= bc + cd

= bd

LHS  =  RHS

ac = bd

Hence Proved

If ab = cd then ac = bd
