If ABC is an isosceles right triangle right angled at C. Prove that AB^2 = 2AC^2

Since ∆ABC is right triangle, right angled at C.

Then by Pythagoras theorem

AB^2=AC^2+BC^2

Using BC=AC,we get

AB^2=AC^2+AC^2

Hence, AB^2 = 2AC^2

Answer:

By using Pythagoras theorem :

 {ab}^{2}  =  {ac}^{2}  +  {bc}^{2}

∆ABC is a isoscele triangle so BC = AC

 {ab}^{2}  =  {ac}^{2}  +  {ac}^{2} \\  \\  {ab}^{2}   =  {2ac}^{2}

Hence proved ✔️
