If the velocity of the particle changes at a constant rate, then this rate is called the constant acceleration. ... For example, if the velocity of a particle moving in a straight line changes uniformly (at a constant rate of change) from 2 m/s to 5 m/s over one second, then its constant acceleration is 3 m/s2... .

Hope it will help :)

Explanation: IT IS EASY UNDERSTAND AND CO RELATE SOME FACT TO MAKE FAMILIER AND UNDERSTAND WITH BETTER EXPLAINATION SO WE KNOW A BODY IS SAID TO BE MOTION WHEN IT CHANGE ITS POSITION LET HENCE IT WILL MOVE WITH VELOCITY OF SAME AND IF HE/SHE IS MOVING WITH SOME VELOCITY SO HENCE THERE SHOULD BE ACCLERATION WHERE WE KNOW RATE OF CHANGE IN VELOCITY. BUT FOR THIS Q WHEN VELOCITY IS CONSTANT HENCE IT MEANS ACCLERATION IS MOVING WITH CONSTANTLY HENCE NOW WE CAN UNDERSTAND AND RELATE THAT IF ACCLERATION OS CONSTANT IT MEANS BODY IS MOVING WITHN A MOTION  WITHOUT CHANGING accleration HENCE THE MOTION BEOME CONSTANT.

HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU...
