Step-by-step explanation:

let a,b be the roots of equation x²-3x-10 =0

so a+b = -(-3)/1=3, ab= -10/1 = -10

(a+b)² = 3²

a²+b²+2ab = 9

a²+b²+2×(-10) =9

a²+b² =20+9 =29

a/b+b/a = a²+b²/ab

=29²/-10 = -841/10 =-84.1
