Amar alone can work for 3 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

If aman and Sumit can do a job in 2 days Sumit and Kashish can do it in 4 days and aman and Kashish can do it in \frac{12}{5} days.

Then find the number of days in which aman can do this job alone.

Solution:

Let amar be a, sumit be s and kashish be k

a + s = \frac{1}{2} ..(1)

s + k = \frac{1}{4} …(2)

a + k = \frac{5}{12} …(3)

Adding RHS of 1,2 and 3,

Total parts = \frac{1}{2} +\frac{1}{4} + \frac{5}{12} = \frac{7}{6}

2 (a + s + k) = \frac{7}{6}

A + s + k =\frac{7}{12}

A = \frac{7}{12} - \frac{1}{4} = \frac{1}{3}

Amar alone can work for 3 days
