If an=3n+2 then find S3

Answer:

Sn =(n/2)(a +An) ......(1)

we have,

An=3n+2

since,

a1=a= 3(1) +2= 5

a3= 3(3) + 2 =11

using (1)

S3 = (3/2) (5+11)

=(3/2)(16)

=3*8. = 24
