it depends on what kind of mirror you use for the activity
if its a normal mirror which is usually used at home than it should be at the equal distance as its from the mirror in real place
so what i mean to say is the object would be on a distance of 5.5 cm in this experiment thank you

we know that the image formed in the plane mirror is always at the same distance the object is from the mirror.
in easy words, the distance between the object and mirror is equal to the distance of the same object from the mirror in the image formed.
here, the object is placed at a distance of 5.5cm in front of the mirror.
therefore total distance between the object and it's image in the mirror = 5.5 + 5.5 = 11cm
hence, the object is 11cm far from it's image.
