Cytokinin - a type of phytohormone, helps in cell division in plants. This process is also known as Cytokinesis.

 

These phytohormones promote cell division as well as growth of tissues but rely on Auxins to determine the level of their activity. When the Cytokinin to Auxin ratio is high, growth of stems and leaf are stimulated in plants.
