If an object of mass m is suspended to a rigid support with the help of a spring of force constant k, it vibrates
with a frequency 2 Hz. Now two identical objects A and B, each of mass m, are joined together by a
spring of force constant k' and then they are connected to rigid supports S1 and S2 by two identical
springs, each of force constant k [Fig 9.2]. Next, if A is clamped, B vibrates with a frequency 2.5 Hz.
Calculate the frequencies of the two modes of vibration. Find also the ratio k'/k of the two force constants.
