Complete Question :- In the given figure, O is the centre of the circle, angle AOB = 30° and angle OCB = 40° .

To Find :- angle AOC = ?

Solution :-

In ∆AOB , we have,

→ OA = OB (Radius of circle.)

so,

→ ∠OAB = ∠OBA (Angle opposite to equal sides are equal.)

then,

→ ∠OBA = 30° --------- Eqn.(1)

similarly, In ∆BOC , we have,

→ OC = OB (Radius of circle.)

so,

→ ∠OBC = ∠OCB (Angle opposite to equal sides are equal.)

then,

→ ∠OBC = 40° --------- Eqn.(2)

adding Eqn.(1) and Eqn.(2) we get,

→ ∠OBA + ∠OBC = ∠ABC

→ ∠ABC = 30° + 40° = 70°

therefore,

→ ∠AOC = 2 * ∠ABC (Angle at centre is twice of angle at circumference .)

→ ∠AOC = 2 * 70° = 140° (Ans.)
