If angular momentum is conserved in a system whose moment of inertia is decreased,will its rotational kinetic energy be also conserved?explain

kinetic energy and angular momentum are related as E=L square /2I ,thus decreasing the moment of inertia and keeping L constant will increase the kinetic energy of rotation body
