Given:

Number of students = 25

Number of faculty advisors = 4

To find:

Number of ways to assign 25 students to 4 faculty advisors.

Solution:

An advisor may get multiple students, but one student may not get multiple advisors. So using this concept we can find the number of ways required:

If one student is assigned then he cannot be reused

Each student has a choice of 4 faculty advisors,

Therefore 25 students will have 4*4*4...... 25 terms.

Therefore the number of ways = 4^25

The number of ways to assign 25 students to 4 faculty advisors will be 4^25.
