let x and y be rational and irrational number respectively. Is (x+y) necessarily an irrational number? Give an example in support of your answer.

Yes. Because addition of rational and irrational number always give irrational

Heya!!

Yea. The sum would definitely be an irrational number as whenever we add any irrational number to any other number, the result answer is always irrational only. For example, if we add
 \sqrt{2}  + 1 = 1.7320508076
which is an irrational number.
