In ΔAOB and ΔCOD, 

∠ AOB = ∠COD (Vertically opposite angles) 

AO/OC = DO/OB   (Given) 

Therefore according to SAS similarity criterion, 

ΔAOB ~ ΔCOD 

AO/OC = BO/OD = AB/DC [corresponding sides of similar triangles are proportional] 

⇒ 1/2 = 5/DC 

⇒ DC = 10
