Given,

The apparent depth of water in tank  = 48cm

refractive index of water = 4/3

we  know,

refractive index = \frac{realdepth}{apparentdepth}

∴ real depth of the tank = \frac{4*48}{3}

                 =64cm

Thus the real or actual depth is 64cm of the tank.

Answer:

actual depth=64

Explanation:

refractive index =real depth/apparent depth

4/3                    =real depth/48

cross multiply

48*4                =3*x

48*4/3            =x

64                   =x

thus actual depth =64cm
