If ax+ by=a square -b square and bx+ay=0,find the value of x+y

given ax+by= a^2-b^2 and bx+ay =0

let, ax+by = a^2-b^2......(i)

and bx+ay = 0.......(ii)

Now, adding both the equations ,we get

ax+by+bx+ay = a^2-b^2

x(a+b) + (a+b)y = a^2-b^2

(a+b) (x+y) = (a+b) (a-b). [a^2-b^2= (a+b)(a-b) ]

(x+y) = (a-b) .......ans.
