Step-by-step explanation:

Base of the triangle = 12cm

perimeter = 35cm

Equal side(a) = (35-12)/2 = 23/2 = 11.5

Equal side(b) = (35-12)/2 = 23/2 = 11.5

According to herons formula

area of triangle = sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))

S = perimeter/2

S = 35/2 = 17.5

So area of triangle =

sqrt(17.5(17.5-11.5)(17.5-11.5)(17.5-12))

= sqrt(17.5(6)(6)(5.5))

= 6sqrt(17.5*5.5)

= 6 sqrt(96.25)

= 6 * 9.8107

= 58.8642
