Benzene is apolar, but relatively polarizable dueto the "pi cloud". Water is extremely polar, so benzene is only very slightly solublein water. Ether, however, is miscible in anyproportion withbenzene. Etheris considered apolar solvent, but it is much less polar than other organic solvents like acetic acid or ethanol. And even ethanol and benzene will mix.
