If CD is a chord equal to the radius of the circle OB, Find the angle subtended by the chord CD at the major arc and the minor arc.

Given: CD=OB
To find out: the angle subtended by
major and minor arc
Construction: joined lines CO and DO
Solution: we know that radius of the
circle is equal to the chord CD

So, CD=OC=OD
therefore, triangle COD is a equilateral triangle

So,all angles in a triangle is 60*

Therefore, angle subtended by an
minor arc is 60*(or) angle COD=60*

And, angle subtended by an major arc (or) reflex angle COD = 360*-60*
=300*
