RBCs ARE ANIMAL CELL WHEREAS ONION CELLS ARE PLANT CELLS.HYPOTONIC SOLUTION HAS LESS CONCENTRATION OF SOLUTE AND MORE CONCENTRATION OF SOLVENT AS COMPARED WITH THAT OF THE CELL.THEREFORE DUE TO ENDOSMOSIS THE CELLS WILL SWELL BUT RBCs MAY ALSO BURST AFTER AN EXTENT . BUT THE PLANT CELL REFUTES EXTRA SWELLING DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF CELL WALL.
