Given,

Time period = 3 years.

Compound Interest rate = 20% per annum.

Compound Interest after 3 years = Rs. 728.

To  Find,

The simple interest or the same amount, period, and rate.

Solution,

To solve this interest problem we will use the mathematical process as follows,

Let's assume the Principle amount is Rs. P.

We know as per the formula total amount in Compound Interest, A = P×(1+\frac{R}{100})^{n}.

Where P = principal amount, R = rate of interest, N = number of years, A =Total amount inclusive of principal and interest.

So here in the first case A= P+728.

So we can say, P+728 =P× (1+\frac{20}{100} )^{3}.

⇒P+728=P×(1.20)^{3}.

⇒P+728=1.728P.

⇒0.728P=728.

⇒P=1000.

So the principal amount is Rs, 1000.

Now let's find the simple interest of Rs. 1000 with an interest rate of 20% and a time period of 3 years.

Simple interest = \frac{P.R.T}{100}.

Here Simple interest = \frac{1000.20.3}{100}=600Rs.

Hence, The simple interest of the same sum, same period, and the same time are Rs.600.
