your mistake in the question is that you didn't mention angle for the trigonometric functions i.e. you wrote only cos =0.6.

Here in my solution x is any angle and you can consider x as theta also.

cos x = 0.6=6/10=3/5

Now,

using sin^2x +cos^2x=1

we get, sin x = 4/5

Also tan x = sin x/cos x

= 4/5÷3/5=4/3

According to the question

(5sin x - 3 tan x )= (5×4/5-3×4/3)=(4-4)=0

hence proved .
