If cos Q=8÷17,then the value of tan Q will be?

cosQ = 8/17 = adjacent side / hypotenuse.

By Pythagoras theorem; Opposite side = √17²-8²=√289-64=15cm .

Now, We have Opposite side to Q = 15 .
Adjacent side to Q = 8.
Hypotenuse of the triangle = 17 .

We know that TanQ = Opposite side of Q / Adjacent side of Q = 15/8 .

TanQ=15/8
