We assume theta=A.

CosA=1/√2

CosA=base/hypotenuse.

B=1,H=√2.

By Pythagoras theory

H^2=P^2+B^2

2=P+1

P=1.

Cot A=1/tanA

CotA = cosA/sinA

Cot A=B/H/P/H

Cot A =B/H×H/P

Cot A=1. Answer
