If cost of 8pen is 96 what is cost of 5pen

The cost of 8 pen= 96
The cost of 1 pen=96/8
The cost of 5 pen=12*5
= 60

   hence, 8x = 96

             x = 96 /8

             x = 12  

       Now , cost of 5 pens be 5x 
 
       put the value of x = 12  here 

                  cost of 5 pens = 12 * 5

                                        = Rs. 60
