let the cost price of each article be x .then,

c.p.of 12 articles =12x

s.p.of 12 articles =c.p.of 10 articles =10x

since c.p greater then s.p.

=(12x-10x)=(2x)

loss %= 2x/12x*100=16.666%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the cost price of one article.

Then, the cost price of 12 articles is 12x.

According to the given information, the selling price of 12 articles is equal to the cost price of 10 articles.

So, the selling price of 12 articles is 10x.

So, loss is given by

12x-10x=2x.

Therefore, loss percentage is given by

P\%=\dfrac{2x}{12x}\times 100\%=\dfrac{100}{6}\%=16.66\%.

Thus, the required loss percent in the deal is 16.66%.
