cp of 18 mangoes = sp of 16 mangoes be x

cp of 1 mango=x/18

sp of 1 mango=x/16

cp                               sp  

x/18  cross multiply   x/16

16x  <  18x

as cp<sp

there is a gain.

gain=sp-cp

       =  18x-16x  

         = 2x

gain%=( 2x/16x)100                                                                                                                                                    

        = 25/2%

       =12.5%
