ANSWER:

Let selling price of each pencil =C.P +profit(x)

19(C.P)=16(S.P)

19(C.P)=16(C.P)+16(profit)

3(C.P)=16(x)

Answer:

18 3/4%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If Cost Price of 19 pencils is equal to Selling Price of 16 pencils,

To find : find the profit percentage

Solution :

Let C .P. of 1 chair = R s 1

C .P. of 1 9 chairs = Rs . 1 9

C . P. of 1 6 chairs = Rs . 1 6

S . P. of 1 6 chairs =C . P . of 1 9 chairs = Rs . 1 9

Profit S P - C P = Rs . 3

::% Gain S P − C P / C P × 1 0 0  = 3 * 1 0 0 / 1 6 = 1 8 3 / 4 %

Thus ,

1 8 3 / 4 % is the profit percentage .
