if cosx.cos x = sinx.tanx then find the value of cos^6x -cos^2x​

Answer:

cosx×cosx= cos²x-----1

cox^6x= (cos²x)³-----2

cos²x=sinx.tanx (given)

Therefore,

cos^6x - cos²x

= (cos²x)³ - sinx.tanx     (from 1, 2 and given)

= (sinx.tanx)³ - sin.tanx

= sin³x.tan³x - sinx.tanx

=sinx.tanx(sin²x.tan²x - 1) (by taking common outside)
