Question-

If cotθ - cosecθ =p , then cot θ + Cosecθ =

Answer-

The answer is cotθ + cosecθ = -1/p

Explanation-

We have,

   cotθ - cosecθ = p

⇒ cosθ/sinθ - 1/sinθ = p

⇒ (cosθ - 1)/sinθ = p

Now let cotθ + cosecθ = A

⇒ (cosθ + 1)/sinθ = A

Multiplying the first equation with the second equation, we get

   (cosθ - 1)/sinθ × (cosθ + 1)/sinθ = pA

⇒ (cos²θ - 1)/sin²θ = pA

⇒ -sin²θ/sin²θ = pA

⇒ -1 = pA

⇒ A = -1/p

Thus,

A = -1/p

Therefore, cotθ + cosecθ = -1/p
