Now for the first case,

Let,

H1 = (I1)²×R1×T1

Now for the second case,

H2 = (I1/2)² × R1 × T1

H2 = I1²/4 × R1 × T1

4H2 = I1² ×R1 × T1

Now H1 = 4H2

So it is obvious that the produced amount of heat has become 1/4th than the previous.
