Consider x be the part of ice remains inside and y be the part of ice outside the sea water.

As per the law of floatation,x/y = density of ice/ density of sea water

= x/y = 0.9/1.02=0.9/1.1

×-ly and ÷ by 10

x/y=9/11

x=9/11y

Ice floats on the surface of sea water with 9/11 th of its portion over the sea surface.
