let each side of the square be a , then area = a²
As given that The side is increased by 25%, then
New side = [5a / 4]²
New area = (5a4)25a42
Increased area= 25a²/16 - a²
Increase %=[9a²/16]/a²*100 % = 56.25%
hope it helps

Let the side before increase be x.
Then older area, A1 = x²
New side = x + 25x/100 = x + x/4
= 5x/4.
New area, A2 = 25x²/16
% increase =[ (A2 - A1)/A1] * 100
= (9 *100) / 16
= 56.25%
Then older area, A1 = x²
New side = x + 25x/100 = x + x/4
= 5x/4.
New area, A2 = 25x²/16
% increase =[ (A2 - A1)/A1] * 100
= (9 *100) / 16
= 56.25%
