Answer:

Let, the equilateral triangle has sides of 'a' unit

Then Area of the equilateral triangle =

((√3)/4)*(a²) sq. unit

If the sides of the triangle becomes '2a' unit

Now the area of the equilateral triangle becomes =

((√3)/4)*(2a)² = ((√3)/4)*(4a²) sq. unit

Increase in area =

{ ((√3)/4)*(4a²) - ((√3)/4)*(a²) } sq. unit = 3a² sq. unit

Percentage Increase in area = ((3a²)/(a²))*100 = 300 %
