At the surface of earth, we are under constant acceleration due to rotation of earth.If it suddenly stops rotating then due to inertia evrerything on the surface would be thrown away as loose objects would continue to move. Oceanic water,loose stone on mountains,loose glacier , almost every thing would come flying in the atmosphere.

Another aspect is that the area facing the sun would heatup and the other side would cool down to probably subzero level.

It would also affect earths magnet(assuming the core also stops). This would allow the charged particles from ionosphere to enter atmosphere which is otherwise prevented due to this natural magnet.Satellite based communication systems would start failing and you would not be able to watch aurora.

It would be catastrophic.

Yes, in my opinion it would surely affect our life.
No rotation then there will be no night and no day . This is the most basic answer.
