FOR THIS LETS TAKE THE EXAMPLE OF INDIA ...... THERE ARE ATLEAST 29 STATES IN INDIA IF EACH STATE HAD ITS OWN LOCAL TIME IT WILL BE DIFFICULT . WHEN WE SPEAK WE SPEAK OF INDIA AS ONE SO THE LOCAL TIMES OF THE STATES MAY CAUSE A STATE OF CONFUSION SO AS TO AVOID THIS SITUATION THE STANDARD TIME WAS INTRODUCED WHICH WAS MEANT AS THE COMMON TIME THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY......INDIA'S STANDARD MERRIDEAN PASSES THROUGH U.P(MIRZAPUR)

THE LOCAL TIME REPRESENTS THE TIME OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL LONGITUDE SO THIS WILL CAUSES A CONFUSION. SO THE STANDARD MERRIDIAN WERE INTRODUCED ....
