The magnitude of \vec{f} is √45

Given :

 \vec{f} = 5 \hat{i} + 2 \hat{j} - 4\hat{k}

To find :

The magnitude of  \vec{f}

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given vector

Here vector is given by

 \vec{f} = 5 \hat{i} + 2 \hat{j} - 4\hat{k}

Step 2 of 2 :

Find magnitude of  \vec{f}

The magnitude of  \vec{f}

 =  |5 \hat{i} + 2 \hat{j} - 4\hat{k}|

 =  \sqrt{ {(5)}^{2}  +  {(2)}^{2}  +  {( - 4)}^{2} }

 =  \sqrt{25 + 4 + 16}

 =  \sqrt{45}

Hence magnitude of \vec{f} is √45
