Answer:

Here F(x) is continuous in [0,3]

So, It is continuous at x= 2

So, LHL = RHL at x= 2

Lim x->2 3x -4 = Lim x->2 2x+k

= 3(2) -4 = 2(2) + k

= 6-4 = 4 +k

2 = 4+k

k = -2

QUESTION,

if F (x) is continuous in [0,3] where

F (x) = 3x-4 , for 0 <x <2

= 2x+k, for 2 < x <3

then the value of k is

┗─━─━─━─━∞◆∞━─━─━─━─┛

\underline \mathbb{SOLUTION}

Here,

f(x) \: is \: continuous \: in \:(0,3)

》So it is continuous at x=2

✨So,LHS = RHS at x = 2

》Lim x-2 3x-4 = lim x-2 2x+k

3(2) - 4 = 2(2) + k

= > 6 - 4 = 4 \: + \: k

2 = 4 + k

k = - 2
