f ( x ) = x² + 1

If f ( - 1), then

⇒ f ( - 1) = ( - 1 )² + 1

⇒ f ( - 1 ) = 1 + 1

⇒ f ( - 1 ) = 2

Hence, the value of f ( - 1 ) is 2.
