If flow of electrons is current then why direction of current is opposite to the direction of flow of electrons

because when electric current was discovered at that time electrons were not discovered so the direction of the current is conventionally the direction of the protons

kirtisingh24: but protons are inside the nucleus right, how would they have satisfied that protons move, even if they dont move
