GIVEN

G = {7, 8} and H = { 5, 4, 2}

FORMULA

n(G×H) = n(G) × n(H)

No  \: of  \: subsets  \: in  \: any  \: set  =  {2}^{n}

where n = no of elements in sets

SOLUTION

n(G) = 2

n(H) = 3

Then the number of elements in G × H = 2 ×3 = 6

So the number of subsets in G× H =

 {2}^{6}  = 64
