If HCF and LCM of two numbers are 9 and 90 respectively. if one number is 18, find the other.

If a , b are two numbers and their

LCM = L and HCF = H then

a × b = L × H

*********************************************

Now ,

Let a = 18 ,

b = ?

L = 90 ,

H = 9 ;

18 × b = 90 × 9

b = ( 90 × 9 )/18

b = 5 × 9

b = 45

Therefore ,

Required second number = b = 45

And,




One number = 18



As we know that,



One number × Other Number = HCF × LCM




18 × Other Number = 9 × 90




Other Number = 9 × 90/18
