the Himalayas act as a barrier to India from the North Asian climate. It prevents the monsoon wind from passing the northern boundary of India ,ie, to China .
They also block to the hot winds formed in the north Asia from entering India
therefore, if Himalayas was not here northern India would have transformed into a desert
