If hydrogen is a good fuel and oxygen helps in burning, than why not H2O catches fire

Here, oxygen and hydrogen looses their individual property due to the formation of water and it gains a new property known as extinguishing.

As per our chemistry each element have different properties and when two different elements combines they looses their individual properties and they gain new properties. As per the question hydrogen has different properties and oxygen has different properties but when they combine each other they loose their and new properties are gained this process is called extinguishing
