In modern periodic table, the elements are arranged in the order of their increasing atomic number. Hydrogen Atomic number is 1. Hydrigen becamesbto stable to form anion and but not cation. Therefore, Hydrogen is placed in alkali metals. Hydrogen has only one valence electron in the outermost shell. Hydrogen requires 1 electron to comolet its duplet.
