If i can find mean by using only one method (direct method ) so why 2 more formula is given in ncert for mean .(step deviation and assumed mean)

these formulae can be also used to find mean....when we use these formulae then the procedure becomes longer but the calculation is minimised.

Other two methods are given just to reduce our time in calculating the value.
Like there are many values which are very big so we cannot calculate their mean by direct method because it will take lot of time....so in this case other two methods are helpful...
