If I do get help for this question I suggest going to taskbar and typing in "Snipping Tool" So you can snip the graph and plot the points. Or help plot the points on the graph. Thanks!

Plot the line for the equation on the graph.

take an equation
x/a + y/b = 1
here in this curve x intercept is (a,0)
y intercept is (0,b)

now, y-2= - 2(x+4)
y+2x = - 6

now divide both side by -6; and make that equation in the form of x/a + y/b = 1 , and draw the graph

solomonsjsmith: Would I make the line go through the origin then?
SSG007: no need to take the line going through origin..forget about the equation given....1st take an eq x/a + y/b = 1. then this line will go through (0,b) and (a,0) point. draw this line 1st. then make the given equation in this form....a and b may be negetive...this type of equation can be solved in this way
solomonsjsmith: okie I understand! But I kinda forgot...(0,b) and (a,0) point.. what do the letters represent?
SSG007: in this eq, y-2= -2(x+4); y+2x=-6; y/-6 + x/-3 = 1; here a= -3; b= -6; so the points are (-3,0),(0,-6) ; draw the line passing through these points
solomonsjsmith: Oh Okay Thanks a million!
SSG007: when this type equation is given, try to make the equation x/a + y/b = 1; thn find a and b. then points will be (a,0),(0,b) and just draw the line. a,b may be neg or positive. dont try to find slope. it will make the process harder
